Jimmy Olson is recognized as one of the funeral industry’s foremost experts on green and natural burials. A first-generation funeral director, he began his career in Connecticut in 1997 after graduating from Briarwood College of Mortuary Science. He also holds degrees in music and a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Med Biology from Southern Connecticut State University.


In 2000, Jimmy purchased and began operating Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, which he continues to own and manage today. A passionate educator, he is a charter member of the NFDA Green Burial Workgroup and serves as a spokesperson for the National Funeral Directors Association. He has traveled extensively, presenting to funeral homes, directors, and consumers worldwide on natural burials, cremation, innovative marketing, and funeral home and crematory management.


Jimmy has authored numerous articles and been featured in leading publications, including NFDA’s Director Magazine, The New York Times, The Economist, and The Wall Street Journal. His professional involvement includes serving as past President of the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association, current member of its Advocacy Committee, and membership in both FIAT-IFTA and the NAFD in England.


Jimmy lives in Sheboygan with his husband, Dr. Clint Andersen, and their five dogs. Together, they enjoy traveling, exploring historic homes, visiting antique shops, and discovering new wineries.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, Fawn J. Schaefer has dedicated her career to serving families with compassion and professionalism. She graduated from Rufus King High School in 1995, earned her Mortuary Science Degree from Milwaukee Area Technical College in 2000, and obtained her Insurance License in 2005. Over the years, she has served communities in Burlington for 14 years, Appleton for one year, and Sheboygan for the past decade.


An active member of the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association (WFDA), Fawn has held numerous leadership roles, including President of the Southeastern District, board member and District State Representative for the Lakeshore District, and currently, President Elect of the WFDA Executive Board. She is also proud to have co-chaired the WFDA Professional Women’s Conference—the first of its kind hosted by a state association. In addition, she serves as Vice President of the Howards Grove Lions Club Board.


Fawn has been married to her husband, Lucas, for 25 years, and together they have two children, Sam and Scarlett. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, shopping, cooking, baking, and entertaining loved ones.

Joseph Erickson has been part of Olson Funeral Home for over eight years, assisting wherever needed—driving the hearse and van, handling airport transfers, coordinating with other funeral homes, preparing registry books, and welcoming families. Before joining Olson, Joseph attended two years of college and spent 30 years with United Parcel Service, including 28 years in management.


Of all his duties, Joseph especially enjoys driving. Married for 49 years to his wife, Deb, he is the proud father of two adult daughters, Stephanie and Alea. At home, Joseph and Deb share their lives with their toy poodle, Bibi.

Kim Benzschawel brings over 36 years of experience as a hair stylist, beginning her career with J.C. Penney Salons in Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Texas before spending 22 years at Entourage Salon & Spa. She semi-retired in 2020 but continues to share her creativity through her work at Restoration Gardens, where she has been handcrafting Christmas wreaths for 17 years.


Deeply rooted in her community, Kim volunteers her time by delivering, cooking, and serving meals for local organizations, as well as lending a hand at The Gathering Place. She and her husband live in Sheboygan Falls with their two grown daughters nearby and three very spoiled Persian cats.


When she’s not with family, Kim can often be found planting, pruning, arranging flowers, or

diving into landscaping projects. As a new addition to Olson Funeral Home, she looks forward to bringing her caring customer service skills to support families and their loved ones during times of need, while honoring the traditions of a historic community establishment.

Randy Oskey joined Olson Funeral Home as a Funeral Director Assistant in November 2024. A lifelong Sheboygan resident, Randy and his wife, Sally, live on the city’s north side. The couple remarried in 2016 and together share seven children and six grandchildren.


Randy spent nearly 25 years with Kohler Company before leaving in 2008. He and Sally, along with her son Kurt, later owned and operated 8th Street Ale Haus and Sheboygan Brewing Company for 14 years. Now retired from business ownership, Randy finds fulfillment in giving care, attention, and respect to others—especially the elderly.


In his free time, Randy enjoys being with family, playing guitar, woodworking, and a good game of Canasta.

Scott first began working with Jim in 2021, providing maintenance support at his home and other properties. In 2022, he started helping part-time at the funeral home, and by 2025 he joined the team full time. Today, Scott handles building maintenance and assists with funerals and transfers, bringing a steady and dependable presence to every task.

Since 2008, Selwa Perry has served as the Preneed Consultant for Olson Funeral Home, helping individuals and families thoughtfully plan in advance—whether for direct cremation, a traditional funeral, or anything in between. She is licensed to establish funeral trusts for those who wish to prepay for their arrangements, offering guidance with compassion and care.


A native Southerner, Selwa has been married for 38 years to a fellow Southerner but happily calls the Midwest home, appreciating its distinct four seasons. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, spending time with family and friends, walking along Lake Michigan, and Scottish Terriers.
