Joann J. Richter

JoAnn J. Richter, 75. of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at St. Nicholas Hospital.
Born March 17, 1946 in Sheboygan, JoAnn was a daughter of the late Leon and Lillian Hall Schmidt. She attended area schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1964. On April 3, 1965, she was united in marriage to William "Bill" Richter in Sheboygan. They were married for 40 years before Bill preceded her in death on January 4, 2006.
JoAnn worked for the Bemis Corporation for over 40 years before her retirement. She was a former member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling, especially taking cruises around the world. She also enjoyed the time she spent in her garden. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons, Jamie Richter, Sheboygan, Jay (Debbie) Richter, Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Nicholas Richter, Two Rivers, and Tiffany (Ryan) Richter-Haeuser, Sheboygan; three great granddaughters, Sophie, Delilah, and Raelynn; her brothers, Roger Schmidt, Alvin, WI, Douglas Schmidt, Sheboygan, and Mark (Deana) Schmidt, Cleveland; her sister, Sherri Conn, WA; her sisters-in-law, Judy (Allen) Olson, Sheboygan, Kathy Roller, Sheboygan, and Carol (Tom) Felde, Sheboygan; nieces, nephew, other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service for Joann will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
