William R. Piel

William R. Piel, 67, of Sheboygan, formerly of Saukville, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay surrounded by his family.
Born May 31, 1953 in Milwaukee, William was a son of the late William and Beatrice Nitsch Piel. He attended schools in the Milwaukee area and graduated from Menomonee Falls East High School in 1971. He then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy. In February of 1975, he was united in marriage to Lynn Skyles at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Bill was a truck driver for many years in the metal recycling industry. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider.
He is survived by his brother, Richard (Kari) Piel, Sheboygan; his sisters, Phyllis (Rod) Paul, Greenville, WI, and Peggy (Phillip) Ditter, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Piel, and his wife Lynn Piel.
Family and friends are welcome at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan, on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. A private family service will take place immediately following. COVID 19 guidelines and social distancing will be observed and masks are mandatory.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of St. Vincent Hospital ICU for all of their loving care and support.
