William E. Munns

August 27, 1912 — January 27, 2013

William Edward Munns, 100, of Sheboygan, passed away January 27, 2013 in Duluth, MN. He was born August 21, 1912 in Minneapolis, MN. He was the only child of Dr. Herbert A. Munns, D.D.S. and Ida May Young. Bill attended the University of Minnesota where he played hockey on two outstanding teams in 1932-1933 and 1933 - 1934. William married Frances J. Edquist on April 6, 1940 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Minneapolis. He is survived by his two sons, William F. of Sheboygan and Frank C. of Duluth and has four grandsons, Patrick, Christopher, Michael and Jason. During WW II he was with the 10th Mountain Division serving from 1942-1945. He served in Italy where he won several medals including the Bronze Star. Bill worked for the F. W. Woolworth Company as store manger in Sheboygan from 1952 until it closed in the late 60's and retired in 1974. He loved to play golf and was proud to be a charter member of the Legends of Golf at Riverdale Country Club. A private family memorial service will be held at Lakewood Mausoleum Chapel in Minneapolis following cremation. He will be joining his parents, his wife and her parents, all at Lakewood. The Lippert-Olson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
