William Erhardt, Sr., 81, of Sheboygan, passed away early Saturday morning, January 12, 2019 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice surrounded by his family.
Born June 16, 1937 in Milwaukee, William was a son of the late Raymond and Helen Wetzler Erhardt. He attended Milwaukee area schools and graduated from West Bend High School. William served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1961. On April 14, 1962, he was united in marriage to Kay Jo-Ann Ambrose in Milwaukee.
Bill worked for Wisconsin Electric for 30 years before his retirement in March of 2000. He previously worked at Cutter Hammer. In high school, Bill played tennis and ran cross country and enjoyed ice skating as a child. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Packers, Brewers, Badgers and the Bucks. He loved musky fishing, especially up north in Hayward, WI, at Ole Lake. Bill and Jo-Ann also enjoyed traveling together. He will always be remembered for telling jokes.
He is survived by his wife, Jo-Ann; his two sons, William (Jennifer) Erhardt, Manitowoc, and Donald (Rebecca) Erhardt, Conroe, TX; his four grandsons, Michael (Baily) Erhardt, Manitowoc, James (Elizabeth Miller) Erhardt, Sheboygan, Evan Erhardt, Houston, TX, and Alex Erhardt, Conroe, TX; his two great grandchildren, Erika Erhardt, Sheboygan, and Tayler Kokesch, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
A memorial services for William will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, 1248 Lincoln Avenue, Sheboygan. The Rev. Gregory Whelton will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, and to special friends and family who have helped during this time, especially Tammy Rajer and Eileen Dreczka.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with William's arrangements.
