Wallace R. Paasch, 94, of Sheboygan, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 16, 2016 at Sunny Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center where he had been residing.
Born May 6, 1922 in Sheboygan, Wallace was a son of the late Walter and Esther Kuester Paasch. He attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from North High School. He then went on to serve his country during W.W.II in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946, stationed on the U.S.S. Larkspur hospital ship. He served in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters. On May 11, 1946, he was united in marriage to Anita Rose Zibell at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. They were married for 55 years before Anita preceded him in death on March 1, 2002.
Wally worked in the warehouse for Schultz Sav-O Foods for 34 years before retiring in 1984. He owned and operated Wallace R. Paasch Floor Cleaning for many years. He previously worked for the Ardnt Brothers. He was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientists.
He is survived by his two sons, David (Patty) Paasch, Sheboygan, and Barrett (Becky) Paasch, Cleveland; six grandchildren, Peter (Angela) Paasch, Waukesha, Patrick (Kimberly) Paasch, Gurnee, IL, Paul (Stephanie) Paasch, Erie, CO, Crystal (Geoff) Sdano, Waukesha, Nicole Paasch, Sheboygan, and Sarah Paasch, Sheboygan; five great grandchildren, Garrett, Brandon, Caleb, Joel, and Kyle Paasch; two sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents and his wife, Anita, he was preceded in death by his sister and brothers, Audrey (William) Zastropil and Roger (Patricia) and Randy Paasch, and an infant sibling.
Funeral services will take place at 2:00 on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place in Garden Terrace Mausoleum with military honors.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
