Waldemar "Wally" Menzer, 94, of Sheboygan passed away Saturday evening, January 24, 2015 at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center. Born January 16, 1921 in Sheboygan, Wally was a son of the late Frederick and Sophia Kossman Menzer. He attended area schools and graduated from Central High School in 1939. He then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1945. On October 30, 1954, he was united in marriage to Germaine M. Nienhaus at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Wally owned and operated Menzer Electric for 30 years before he retired. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening and could sit in the garden for hours enjoying the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Germaine; his children, Michael and Amy Menzer and their children, Aaron and Tyler (Emma), Scott (deceased 3/9/2014) and his wife Tanya, Niagua, MO and their daughter Jennifer Menzer, Republic, MO, Mark Menzer and his children, Joel and Megan, and Paul and April Menzer and their children, Jordan and Cody Menzer, all of Marietta, GA; his brother, Fred (Marge) Menzer, Sheboygan Falls; and his sister, Wilma Spindler, Bloomington, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Scott Menzer, his sisters, Frieda Faas, Marie Peter and Emma Jones, and his brother Henry Menzer. Funeral services for Wally will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. The Rev. Timothy Mech will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Friday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Lutheran Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in his name. The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Wally's arrangements.
