Virginia M. Weber, 78, of Sheboygan, passed away early Thursday morning, December 31, 2020 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
Born October 15, 1942 in Wisconsin Rapids, Virginia was a daughter of the late Henry and Burnice Dashnier Leslie. She attended Wisconsin Rapids area schools and graduated from Lincoln High School. Following high school, she married Bernard Young. On March 15, 1986, she was united in marriage to Kurt F. Weber in Sheboygan. They were married for 10 years before Kurt preceded her in death on November 6, 1996.
Virginia was a waitress for many years at Smilings Restaurant in Sheboygan. Later, she worked as a nursing assistant at Harmony Assisted Living until her retirement. She loved knitting and crocheting especially making blankets for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed feeding the birds and nuts to her squirrels. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Daniel Young, WI, Deborah Dirks, Sheboygan, Vicki (Scott) Schlafke, Cleveland, and Sherri Klug, MN; her six grandchildren, Michael Dirks, Lisa (Zach) Torrison, Jessica (Brian) Zamora, Tiffany Schlafke, Kristin Schlafke, and Brandon Klug; six great grandchildren, Oliver, Lincoln, Jac, Zion, Caleb and Hannah; her brothers, Robert (Felix) Leslie, MI, and Thomas Leslie, WI; her sister, Katherine Rottler, WI; her brother-in-law, Leonard Hamel, WI; a special step granddaughter, Courtney Bryant, AL, and her best friends, Kathy and Guy Karo, TX; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and her husband, Kurt, she was preceded in death by her son, Brian Young, a son-in-law, Allen Klug, two grandsons, Aaron Klug and Adam, three sisters, Margaret Hamel, Barbara Leslie and Jean Leslie, a sister-in-law, Mary Leslie, and a brother-in-law, Russ Rottler.
Family and friends are welcome at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Private family services will take place immediately following. COVID-19 restrictions will be observed and masks will be required at all times. Inurnment will take place in Garden Terrace Mausoleum.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
