Virginia G. Fischer

Virginia G. Fischer, age 93, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 at Sheboygan Health Services where she had been residing.

Born March 6, 1924 in Sheboygan, Virginia was a daughter of the late Anton and Elizabeth Gruenburg Stiller. She attended Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School and Central High School. On November 27, 1943, she was united in marriage to John F. Gilligan in the chapel at Camp Stoneman, California. They were married for 36 years before John preceded her in death on January 21, 1980. She was then married to Edward Kammerzelt on August 16, 1980 until his death on August 7, 1992. On November 12, 1994, she married Eugene Fischer in Sheboygan. They were married for 22 years before Eugene preceded her in death on November 28, 2016.

Virginia worked in retail for many years, including at the Little Folks Shop, Naus, People's and Sehlers. In her retirement years, she was the brownie baker at Ella's Dela. She was a life long member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, especially in her poker clubs, cooking for her family and bus trips to Oneida and Island Resort. She especially enjoyed riding on the tow truck with Lee & Ed's towing.

She is survived by her two daughters, Joan (Kenneth) King, Sheboygan, and Linda Olsen, Sheboygan; six grandchildren, Jon (Dena) Cvetan, Sheboygan. Chad (Josh Larson) King, New Hope, MN, Todd King, Sheboygan Falls, Andy (Abigail) King, Lubbock, TX, Angela (Walter Grauer) Olsen, Sheboygan, and Jeffrey Olsen, Chicago; six great grandchildren, Jzaban Cvetan, Sheboygan, Hoyt Cvetan, Sheboygan, Styer Cvetan, Sheboygan, Emily King, Sheboygan Falls, Lillian Grauer, Sheboygan, and Vivian Grauer, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is further survived by two step children, Julie (Phil) Manz, Sheboygan, and Michael (Sue) Fischer, Sheboygan.

Besides her parents and husbands, John, Edward and Eugene, she was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Margaret (Byron) Caird, Tharsilla, "Terry" (Arthur) Russell, Bernard “Sonny” (Helen) Stiller, Anthony (Luetta) Stiller, Charlotte (Carl) Zimmerman, and Joseph Stiller.

Private family services will be held. Inurnment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.

A memorial fund in Virginia's name has been established with donations to St. Nicholas Home Health and Hospice and Sheboygan Health Services.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Sheboygan Health Services and St. Nicholas Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
