Thomas Gerstner

Thomas J. Gerstner, age 49, of Sussex, surrounded by his family, passed away Saturday evening September 15th, 2018 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

Born February 20, 1969 in Sheboygan to Richard and Ruth (Koll) Gerstner. He attended local schools and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. He worked as a packaging engineer for the Menasha Corp. Tom was a volunteer firefighter for the Village of Sussex, he enjoyed camping, swimming, riding in his Jeep and watching the Packers & Badgers Hockey.

Tom is survived by his mother, Ruth; his sister, Susan (Patrick) Kirchner; his brother, Mark Gerstner; a niece, Katja Kirchner; a nephew, Pascal Kirchner; 2 uncles, Jim Koll and Roger (Diane) Gerstner; and his beloved cat, Wingnut.

He was preceded in death by his father Richard, and grandparents, Elmer & Irene Gerstner, Joseph (Lucille) Koll and Trudy Koll.

A celebration of Tom's life will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday September 19th, 2018 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan. Private inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Tom's name has been established for the Sussex Smoke Eaters.

The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Tom's arrangements.
