Steven R. Mayer, 45, passed away on October 2, 2013 in Boulder, CO. He was born September 28, 1968 to Grant and Lynne (Goetsch) Mayer. He attended Sheboygan Area Schools and worked at various factories throughout the Sheboygan County before relocating to Colorado. His biggest joy in life was watching his daughter, Hilary grow into a beautiful young woman. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life such as working on charter boats, fishing, hunting, golfing, camping and "frying out". No matter what he was doing he was sure to be listening to hard rock music. As an avid Wisconsin sports lover, he was sure to find a place to watch every Packer game even after relocating to Colorado. Steven is survived by his daughter, Hilary Mayer; parents, Grant and Lynne Mayer; grandmother, Esther Goetsch; two sisters Kim (Scott) Williams, Amy (Erik) Mikkelson; nieces and nephews Katie (Kenneth Sharpe), Jacob, Kristi, Paige, Claire, and William; great nephew, Jack. He is further survived by the loving mother to his daughter, Amy Wieland; his close and loving extended family members, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and special friend Kent Kollath. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Elizabeth Mayer and Harvey Goetsch; uncles, Jeffrey Mayer and Robert Cook; aunt, Bonnie Berlin; and cousin Robby Cook. A memorial service will take place on Saturday October 12, 2013 at Olson Funeral Home at 1132 Superior Ave Sheboygan, WI. The family can be greeted from 11AM to 1PM with the memorial service beginning at 1PM with a luncheon to follow. A memorial will be established in his name.
