Steven A. Herman, 63, of Sheboygan, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at his home. Born May 17, 1951 in Sheboygan, Steven was a son of Kay K. Knoll Bender Borth and the late Clarence Herman. He attended grade school at Trinity Lutheran and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1969. He then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Steven was a woodworker for the Nemschoff Chair Company until his retirement. He previously worked for the Thonet Company. He was an avid golfer who won many trophies along with his golfing partner, Dick Jones. He was a previous member of the Men's Club at Riverdale and currently a member of the Men's Club at Town and Country. He played baseball and loved to bowl, receiving a 600 series ring. He enjoyed the Packers and the Brewers, liked to hunt and shoot archery and enjoyed traveling to see his brother Clarence and sister Theresa. He is survived by his mother and step father, Kay (Niles) Borth, Sheboygan; his brothers, Clarence (Esther) Herman, Lauden, TN, and Richard Herman, Marshall, WI; his step brothers and step sisters, Roy (Rose) Bender, Boca Raton, FL, Theresa (Chris) Nodine, Inman, SC, Mike (Tracy) Bender, Howards Grove, Keith (Laurie) Borth, Sheboygan, Bonnie (David) Clark, Superior, WI, Lyn (Joe) Heidemann, Sheboygan, Dennis, Michael and John Borth, all of Sheboygan; three aunts, Rae Pape, Grace (Charles) Strysick and Ruth Post, all of Sheboygan; two uncles, Robert Herman, Sheboygan, and Michael Herman, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Herman; his step father, Arlyn Bender; uncles, Dale Knoll, Richard, Marvin, Walter and Milton Herman; two aunts, Mary (John) Weller and Doris (Henry) Zitzer; and a step-brother, Tyler Borth. Funeral services for Steven will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. The Rev. Gary Highlander will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment with full Military Honors will take place in the Garden of Valor at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A memorial fund has been established in his name. The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Steven's arrangements. "It's just me."
