Scott H. McGovney II

September 1, 1980 — June 12, 2026

Random Lake

Scott Holmes McGovney II, 45, of Random Lake, passed away on Friday, June 12th, 2026, at his home. He was born in Aurora, Colorado, to Elwood and Amanda (Baker) McGovney and grew up alongside his younger sister, Alicia, where they were lovingly raised by their father, Elwood. Later in life, Scott moved to Milwaukee, where he met the mother of his four children.

Scott had a deep love for music and could often be found playing his guitar or listening to his favorite songs. He cherished quality time with his loved ones, enjoyed hiking and exploring nature, and had a special gift for making others laugh with his quirky personality, and warm spirit.

In his later years, Scott faced significant struggles with his mental health and his diagnosis of Huntington’s Disease. During some of his darkest moments, he felt a deep longing for purpose and searched for peace amid his pain. His faith in Christ led him to St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church in West Bend, where he found his ministry and spiritual community of the faithful. It renewed his sense of hope. He believed in a world filled with love, peace, and growth.

Toward the end of his life, his devoted partner, Ciara Stair, ensured that his days were surrounded by comfort and love−free from anger, pain, or negativity. She filled his final chapter with togetherness, hope, prayer, and peace.

Scott’s son, Kaleb McGovney, believes his father used his final moments with intention and purpose. Kaleb sees his dad as someone who sought to bring awareness to the difference between good and evil, and who desired to unite people in love and harmony. Scott longed to gather the good in the world to stand strong against hardship and darkness−and in the hearts of those who loved him, he did just that.

Scott will be remembered as a father, son, brother, loving partner, and devoted follower of God.

He is survived by his partner, Ciara Stair; his children, Kaleb, Jolee, Jaelyn, and Eliana; stepchildren Kyla and Graysen; his sister, Alicia (Brett) Warner; and his beloved nephews, Thomas and Wyatt. He was preceded in death by his father Elwood.

A burial service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 12 Noon at St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church, 135 S. 6th St. West Bend. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1520 Cty Rd. C Plymouth. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the CHURCH.
