Sarasuvathy Nagaratnam

Sarasuvathy Nagaratnam, lovingly known as Saras (pronounced Sar -us) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Oct 22, 2019.  A private visitation was attended by her brother Jesse Das, sister-in-law Lyn from Australia, as well as her niece and her niece's family.  Olson Funeral Services handled all arrangements simply according to her wishes.

Saras was born in Malaysia on April 9, 1935 to Sim Hup Eng and A.V. Nagaratnam.  After High School, Saras left home for Southhampton School of Nursing in London where she graduated with her degree in Nursing.  She was especially proud to have practiced Nursing alongside her sister Susan in London, before she explored career opportunities in New York and Australia where most of her siblings are.  Saras eventually fell in love with San Francisco and settled there in the late 70's, serving the pediatric population for many years.

Saras enjoyed learning so much that she earned a BA in History from UC Berkeley simply for the the sake of growing in knowledge and information.  Her very active life spanned adventurous globe trotting to exploring various local scenes by foot.  Saras moved to Wisconsin to be near her niece in 2017.
