After an over 3.5 year courageous fight with brain cancer, Ryan Gibbs, age 43, ended his earthly journey and ascended to heaven on Saturday, March 11, 2017. Ryan was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on September 22, 1973 to Richard and Bonnie (Aschenbach) Gibbs. Ryan graduated from Sheboygan North High School and went on to explore his life passions with computers, photography, electronics, cars, and creating and fixing everything. He was a perfectionist and able to fix anything; he was a true master of all trades. He had an infectious smile and laugh and his positive attitude and ability to make others smile was apparent until the very end. Ryan loved the outdoors and particularly enjoyed biking, kayaking, and hiking. He enjoyed traveling and adventures. Ryan was an avid photographer and loved taking photos and being in the mountains of Colorado, The White Mountains, and Acadia National Park. Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert and Ellen Gibbs, Ferdinand and Gladys Aschenbach, and his uncles Robert and Gerald (Jerry) Gibbs. Ryan is survived by his parents Richard and Bonnie Gibbs (Sheboygan), sister Tammy Gibbs (Madison), uncles Deryl Aschenbach (Donna), Elwyn Aschenbach (friend Patti Lundy), Rodney Aschenbach (Faye), Randall (Kathy) Aschenbach, and aunt Sherry Bender (friend Roger Senkbeil), many cousins, and many other family and friends including his former girlfriend Sarah Scala. Ryan’s life, spirit, and talents will be celebrated on March 18 with a celebration of life at 4:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church in Sheboygan, WI (1429 N. 5 th Street, Sheboygan). A visitation will take place from 2:00-4:00 pm at the church and a dinner celebration will follow the service. Ryan’s family would like to express gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants at both Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin and Sharon S. Richardson Hospice Center (especially Kathy Corando and Becky Fisher). A memorial has been established in Ryan’s name that will support the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice Center, Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center, and the Friends of Acadia.

and a cure was not to be.
So, he put his arms around you
and whispered, “Come to me.”
