Ruth J. Petrauski, 92, of Sheboygan, peacefully earned her wings on Thursday evening, May 21, 2015 at Countryside Manor where she had been residing. Born May 20, 1923, in Elkhart Lake, WI, Ruth was a daughter of the late Fred and Clara Scherer Russell. She attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School. On February 1, 1941, she was united in marriage to Anton J. Petrauski at Immaculate Conception Church. Ruth, while raising 12 children, in her spare time enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards and camping. She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. She is survived by her twelve children, Lynn (Jean) Petrauski, New Berlin, Joan (Jack) Lorier, Sheboygan Falls, Gary Petrauski, Sheboygan, Mary (David) Zinkgraf, Plymouth, Karen (Bruce) Diener, New Berlin, Sharon (Daniel) Dever, David Petrauski, Susan Diels, Theresa Buckley, all of Sheboygan, Maria Martin, Sheboygan Falls, Ann (Kevin) Hartmann, Sheboygan and Tom (Connie) Petrauski, Nashwauk, MN; 31 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 21st & Geele Avenue. The Rev. Philip D. Reifenberg will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of Mass. Private family inurnment will take place in Immaculate Conception Cemetery at a later date. A memorial fund has been established in her name. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Countryside Manor and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support. The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Ruth's arrangements.
