Ruth E. Bent, 96, a longtime resident of Kentucky, passed away Tuesday morning, August 12, 2014 at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls where she had been residing. Born July 11, 1918 in Sheboygan, Ruth was a daughter of the late William and Elsie Siebert Abraham. She attended area schools and graduated from Central High School. Ruth was united in marriage to Hugh Bent. She later married Aaron Druen in Kentucky. Ruth was an egg inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for many years. When she lived in Sheboygan, she was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran, Immanual Lutheran and Good Shepherd Church. She was a lifetime Girl Scout and a member of the Homemakers Club and the Women's Club for over 50 years. She volunteered for Arpke's Clinic at the Sheboygan County Home for many years. After moving to Kentucky, she was a member of the Magnolia Lions Club and was proud to be honored with the "Enriching Lives of People with Disabilities" by the Very Special Arts of Kentucky and was written a letter of appreciation from the La Rue County Chamber of Commerce for all of her volunteering. In 1996, she was commissioned as an honorary Inspector of Agriculture. She is survived by her son, William (Virginia Martin) Bent, Groveland, CA; her sister, Irene Lutzke, Sheboygan; nieces and nephews, Steven (Lynda) Lutzke, Pewaukee, Scott (Julie) Lutzke, Sheboygan Falls, Stuart (Carrie) Lutzke, Sheboygan, Spencer (Therese) Lutzke, Sheboygan, Stacey Lutzke, Sheboygan and Vickie (Jim) Mayer, Plymouth; other relatives and friends. Besides her husbands Hugh and Aaron, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Donald Lutzke. Funeral services for Ruth will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Chapel of Eternal Light at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6706 Superior Avenue, Kohler. Family and friends are welcome at the time of service. The Rev. James L. Hartman, pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association. The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Ruth's arrangements.
