Ronald G. Schwonek, 76, of Sheboygan, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at his home. Born November 12, 1938 in Sheboygan, Ronald was a son of the late Gustave "Curley" and Ann Perekovitch Schwonek. He attended local schools and graduated from Central High School. He then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army in 1955, where he spent most of the 3 years working on missiles in southern California. On July 4, 1959, he was united in marriage to Christine Krause. Ron worked at the DieCast Division of Tecumseh Products in Sheboygan Falls for 39 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in Northern Wisconsin. He also liked delivering cakes for his wife's cake business. He very much loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved his two dogs, Cisco and Bridget. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Christine; his sons, Jerry (Yuko), Slinger, and James (Paula), Sheboygan Falls; his grandchildren, Skyler (friend Josh Teunissen), Elijah, Aubrey, Paige and Hana Schwonek; his mother-in-law, Myrtle Krause, Sheboygan Falls; and his sister-in-law, Robin Krause, Sheboygan; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Sandra Weiss, brother-in-law, Lyle Krause, and his father-in-law, Leonard Krause. Funeral services for Ronald will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 3027 Wilgus Avenue. The Rev. Bryan Osladil, pastor, will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. The family would like to especially thank St. Nicholas Home Health & Hospice for their care and compassion, and Pastor Osladil for always being there during these last months. A memorial fund has been established in his name. The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Ronald's arrangements.
