Roger M. Schmidt

Roger M. Schmidt, Age 84, died Tuesday, June 16 at Sunny Ridge Health and Rehabilitation center surrounded by his family. Roger was born Novermber 3, 1930 in Sheboygan to Edwin and Margaret (Maschner) Schmidt. He was educated at Holy Name of Jesus Elementary School through the eight grade. He served in the United States Army in Korea from 1951 to 1954. He was married to Marianne Lutz in Sheboygan on May 18, 1957 at First United Lutheran Church. Roger worked for Ebenreiter Lumber, Lakeshore Display, and Nemschoff Chairs as a woodworker during his career, retiring in 1984. He provided lawn care services in his retirement. He enjoyed renovating homes, and was known as "The King of the Grill." He is survived by his daughter Rhonda Schmidt, Sheboygan; Sons Michael (Special Friend Sheryl), Sheboygan and William (Special Friend Carol), Sheboygan; 5 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters Carol (Albert) Udovich, Sheboygan and Joann Hinze, Sheboygan; brother Karl (Sophie) Schmidt, McHenry IL; and sister in law Susan Schmidt of Sheboygan. His wife Marianne, and brother Edwin preceded him in death. The cremated remains of his body will be inurned in the Garden of Valor Urn Garden at Greenlawn Memorial Park. There will be no services. His family would like to thank the first floor staff at Sunny Ridge Health and Rehabilitation center for Roger's care.
