Roger L. Bower, 71, of Sheboygan, passed away Friday afternoon, July 22, 2016 at St. Nicholas Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born October 15, 1944 in Sheboygan, Roger was a son of the late Lewis and Rose Martin Bower. He attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1964. On June 13, 1964, he was united in marriage to Mary Rathsack.
Roger owned and operated Town & Country Siding for many years, retiring in 2015. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at his cabin in Tomahawk, WI. He loved woodworking and puzzles and could usually be found fixing something at Sommers Trailer Park.
He is survived by his four children, Cynthia (Michael) Passehl, Sheboygan, Cathleen (Mark) Dean, Sheboygan, Philip Bower, Sheboygan, and Theresa (David Munzinger) Bower, Sheboygan; twelve grandchildren, Sonia Bower, Ashley Bower, Michelle Archambault, Drusilla Dean, Nicole Dean, Matthew Dean and Kayla Bower, all of Sheboygan, Kenneth Bower, Jr., AR, Sara Bower, Kevin Bower and Breanna Bower, all of Sheboygan, and Sebastian Munzinger, Milwaukee; nine great grandchildren; his sister, Diane Pruitt, Sheboygan; his brother-in-law, Lloyd Hackbart, Merrill; his sister-in-law, Evelyn Bower, Sheboygan Falls; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is further survived by his soul mate of 30+ years, Betsy Oakley, Sheboygan; her children, Jessie (Paula) Oakley, New Holstein, and Chrissy (Alex) Galicia, Sheboygan; and her grandchildren, Jacob (Lyndsey) Kailing, Sheboygan, Tony Oakley, Kenosha, Lucas Kailing, Kenosha, and Nicole, Joshua, Justin and Tyler Galicia, all of Sheboygan.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Bower, Sr., his great grandson, Little Ricky, two sisters, Marion Hoffman and Mary Ann Hackbart, and two brothers, Robert and Richard Bower.
A Celebration of Life for Roger will take place from 1:30-5:30 p.m. with a prayer service being held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Emil Mazey Hall, 5425 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the ICU unit of St. Nicholas Hospital for all of their loving care and support.
