Robert P. Loebbaka, age 77 of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon surrounded by his family.
Born June 14, 1940, in New London to Raymond and Grace (Cummings) Loebbaka. He attended local schools and served in the United States Navy from 1960 until 1962. On November 9, 1963, he was united in marriage to Joan L. Hemb at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Sheboygan. Robert worked as a forklift operator at the Vollrath Company for 42 years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of the Sheboygan Elks Lodge 299. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his garden and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joan; two children, Kim (Jerry) Miley of Sheboygan Falls, and Steve(Sandra Meyer) of Sheboygan; two granddaughters, Rachel and Sarah Miley of Sheboygan Falls; three sisters, Patricia Winkel, Karen Kromberg & Agnes (Thomas) Gruenke and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister in law, David & Julie Loebbaka, and a sister Laura Mc Donald.
Funeral services for Robert will take place at 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 11, 2018 at The Chapel of Eternal Light, 6706 Superior Ave, Kohler. Rev. Gideon Buya will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the chapel from 11:00 until the time of service. Entombment will follow at the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum.
A memorial fund has been established in Robert's name.
Robert's family would like to thank the staff at St. Nicholas Hospital, Columbia/St. Mary's Hospital-Mequon and the Lawlis Family Hospice for their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Robert's arrangements.
