Robert K. Herman

Robert K. Herman, 96, of Sheboygan, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at his home.
Born June 27, 1927, in Sheboygan, Robert was a son of the late Fred and Leah Harbach Herman. He attended Trinity Lutheran Schools and Sheboygan North High School before enlisting and serving his country in the U.S. Navy. On November 2, 1946, he was united in marriage to Dorothy C. Trester at the Parsonage of Trinity Lutheran Church. They were married for 59 years before Dorothy preceded him in death on July 19, 2006.
Bob was a truck driver for Plastics Engineering Company for 42 years before his retirement. He was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ. He enjoyed being active by playing golf, baseball, and spending time fishing. He especially loved going out for lunch on Wednesdays with his son and dear friends, Gary, Steve, and Ed, and his favorite waitresses at Fountain Park and Bella's. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He  is survived by his two children, Thomas Herman, Howards Grove, and Betty (Richard Wolfrath) Holbrook, Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Angela (Jason) Schickert, Timmy (Lisa Pyykkonen) Herman, Todd Prahl, and Lisa (Michael) Stelter; six great grandchildren, Taylor (Travis) DuMez, Caden, Riley and Brady Stelter, and Carson and Liam Bricco; his sister, Ruth Post; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Walter, Richard, Marvin, Clarence, Milton and Michael Herman and Doris Zitzer.
Funeral services for Robert will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.  Entombment will be in Gardens of Peace Mausoleum.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
