Robert David Ballschmider, 82, of Sheboygan, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Sheboygan Senior Community. He was born May 27, 1943, in Phoenix, AZ to the late Richard Otto Ballschmider and Marie Cecelia (Dooley) Ballschmider.
After graduating from Sheboygan North High School in 1960, Bob headed west to earn his BA from Santa Clara University and MBA from San Jose State. He married Mary Jo McBrearty in 1967, and they returned to Sheboygan where they raised two children.
A devoted dad, Bob was present and proud for occasions big and small, spending countless weekends traveling to basketball and gymnastics tournaments for his son Jerry and daughter Katy. Weekends at home were often highlighted by his homemade caramel corn or donuts.
Bob co-managed Ballschmider-Schils Real Estate while serving in the US Army Reserve, from which he was honorably discharged in 1973. He served as manager of the Garton Metal Finishing Company and then founded Staffing Answers, from which he retired after over 20 years.
He contributed to the Sheboygan community and developed lifelong friendships through his work with the Sheboygan Redwings football team and Sheboygan A’s baseball team and proudly served in leadership positions with the United Way. He was a dedicated member and usher at St. Clement’s Church, serving the parish and joining “second sermons” with beloved friends for many years.
Bob is survived by his daughter Katy (Steve) Russell; daughter-in-law Kathleen Brennan; grandsons J.P. Ballschmider and Julian Ballschmider; sisters Mary Lou Alexander, Joan (Craig) Morehead, KC Nemschoff, Nancy Searles, and Anne Anderson; brother Jack Ballschmider; and his former wife Mary Jo. Along with many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son Jerry Ballschmider, niece Anne Berry, and nephew Kevin O’Donnell.
