Richard Rudebeck

June 4, 1948 — February 7, 2021

Richard Rudebeck, 72, passed into the arms of his savior Sunday, February 7, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer.
Rick was born on June 4, 1948 in Sheboygan, WI to the late Leslie and Sophie (Jurk-Herzog) Rudebeck. He was a 1966 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. On August 31, 1968 he was united in marriage to Barbara Brusse at First Reformed Church in Oostburg.
He enjoyed a 40 year career with Honold and LaPage as a salesman, a job he loved. Rick was an intelligent man with an inquisitive mind. He loved life and devoted himself to family, friends and community. He enjoyed volunteering with the Sheboygan Falls Jaycees, was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the Koenigs Conservation Association since 1974. He enjoyed serving as House Committee Chairman for the new Falls YMCA and the City of Sheboygan Falls Planning Commission. He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he served as an usher, finance committee member and was most proud to serve communion to church shut-ins. His faith grew and friendships were made for over 17 years with a bible study group. His faith was outstanding! He also enjoyed gathering every summer with the Sheboygan Falls ‘Old Timers Club’.
All through his life, he loved to travel and enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, nature and bird watching. He was optimistic, wise and jolly, loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. Rick was the life of the party and was blessed with a great group of friends. He loved the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed watching the games with ‘the boys’ for over 50 years. He cherished time with family and was proud to attend his grandchildren’s events. He had a good soul and truly loved every one of us.
Rick is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 52 years; his children Leslie (Patrick) Leighton, Christine (Keith) Meredith and son Mark; his grandchildren Samuel, Allison, Dillon, Ashley and Gabriel; his Sister Charlotte Lamb; sisters-in-law Maureen Rudebeck, Betty Voss, Bonnie (Larry) Kairys and Bev Brunner; his brothers-in-law Bob (Vel) Brusse, Bill (Fran) Brusse and Barry (Deborah) Brusse. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ferris and Bernie Rudebeck; sister Janet Mueller; his mother and father-in-law Chester and Bernice Brusse; and in-laws Jim Lamb, Vonnie Rudebeck, Bruce Mueller, Bob Voss and Jim (Bruno) Brunner.
A funeral service to celebrate Rick’s life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday February 14, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the church from 1:00 to 3:30 pm with the service to follow.
