Richard A. Jakum

Richard A. Jakum, age 71 owner of Jakum’s Hall and Truck Driver at JJ Trucking, died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 12th in Manchester, TN.
He was born September 20, 1946, in the City of Sheboygan, to the late Leroy and Leora Jakum. He attended Sheboygan South High School. On May 8, 1965, he was united in marriage to Darlene Wallner in Sheboygan.
Richard “Dick” started his career as a truck driver for his dad, Leroy. A couple of years later he started and ran his own trucking business called Jakum Trucking Inc. for over 10 years. Following that he was the owner and operator of Happy Days in Sheboygan until he sold it in 2001. He purchased Luedke’s Meat Market building in 1997 and transformed it into Jakum’s Hall.
He enjoyed golfing and spending time with the Happy Day’s crew. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Richard is survived by his wife, Darlene, his daughter Darla Jakum, his son Dion(Kerri Ceasar) Jakum , his daughter Dawn (Larry) Laboy; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Jeremy) Grams, Madison Jakum, Trent and Taylor Beninghaus, Paige and Tanner Sauer; and one great grandchild Emmett Grams. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Richard will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, August 18 at Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Ave. Deacon Rich Gulig will officiate. Relatives and friends are welcome at the Olson Funeral from 1:00 pm until the time of service to give condolences.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
