Rena Gilbertson, 85 of Sheboygan, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital. Born April 18, 1927, in Kohler, WI, Rena was a daughter of the late Peter and Adela Bredolo Del Bianco. On February 3, 1951, she was united in marriage to Gilbert Gilbertson. Rena was looking forward to celebrating, with her family, her and Gibby's 62nd wedding anniversary on Sunday. Rena was employed by the Kohler Co. in the Brass Division for over 30 years. She was a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club. Rena loved baking, sewing, and in her younger years traveling, taking walks, and camping. She enjoyed watching the birds and deer which came to visit the feeders and birdbath in their yard. She looked forward to spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Rena was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and it's St. Anne's Society. She is survived by her husband Gilbert; two children, Donna (Jim) Noel, Sheboygan, Glenn (fiancee Dawn Schlichting) Gilbertson, Sheboygan Falls; two grandchildren, Brian (Trinity) Noel, Almond, WI, Eric (fiancee Shelly Ries) Noel, Sheboygan; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Zachary Noel; special family members, Destiny (Jacob) Frye and their children, Evan and Ella; one brother Anton Del Bianco, Sheboygan; one sister Mary Taubenheim, Sheboygan, brother-in-law Gerald Gilbertson, Milwaukee; sister-in-law Jean (Lloyd) Kaat, Elkhart Lake; nieces nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Angeline Diener and Jeannie (Francis) Junk; sister-in-law Betty Gilbertson, and brother-in-law Bill Taubenheim. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Holy Name Catholic Church with the Rev. James Connell, pastor, as celebrant. Relatives and friends are welcome at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of mass. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum. A memorial fund has been established in her name. The Lippert-Olson Funeral Home is serving the family.
