Reinhold Kammerzelt, 99, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday morning, August 1, 2016 at his home.
Born May 6, 1917 in Sheboygan, Reinhold was a son of the late Jacob and Amelia Kaufmann Kammerzelt. He attended St. Paul Lutheran School. He then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army from March of 1941 to June of 1945 during W.W. II. He served inn the Pacific Theater and the Philippines. On January 12, 1946, he was united in marriage to Everdene H. Pierce at the parsonage of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. They were married for 37 years before Everdene preceded him in death on November 27, 1983.
Reinhold was a contractor for the Ehler Brothers for many years. He previously worked at the Kohler Company in the maintenance department. He was a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and antique fairs.
He is survived by his two children, Kathy (Daniel) Hutchinson, Sarasota, FL, and Thomas (Marlene Schoen) Kammerzelt, Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Nicole (Scott) Cudworth, Sheboygan, Corey (Terri) Kammerzelt, Kirkland, NM, Tammy Zielinski, Bradenton, FL, and Jeff (Jackie Lou) Hutchinson, Boynton Beach, FL; his sister-in-law, Laura Kammerzelt, Sheboygan; six great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents and wife, Everdene, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pauline (Fredrick) Schoeder; and three brothers, Edward (Virginia) and Arthur, and LeRoy (Lucille).
Private family services will be held. Entombment will take place in the Garden Terrace Mausoleum of Lutheran Cemetery.
