Ralph M. Rudie, 90, of Sheboygan, passed away Saturday morning, October 24, 2015 at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls after a short stay. Born September 20, 1925 in the Town of Sheboygan, Ralph was a son of the late Norman and Esther Wilke Rudie. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943 until 1946. He received the Victory Medal, European-African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, 3 Bronze Battle Stars, 3 Overseas Service Bars, Good Conduct Medal and was Honorably Discharged. On April 12, 1947, he was united in marriage to LaVerne M. Siegert at St. John's Evangelical & Reformed Church. Ralph worked for Plastics Engineering Co. in Sheboygan for 39 years, retiring in 1990. He previously worked at the Sheboygan Baking Co. and Chair City. He was a member of St. John's UCC where he served on the church council and the church brotherhood. He loved taking pictures, golfing, bowling and keeping current with technology on his iPhone, iPad and computer. He and LaVerne enjoyed traveling around the country, visiting almost every state, camping for many years and served as the campground host at Peninsula State Park with LaVerne during his retirement. Together they volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 15 years and he also volunteered as a driver for Sheboygan County Office on Aging. He is survived by his wife, LaVerne; his daughters, Sandra (Jon) Paskiet, Sheboygan, and Karen (Charles) Mais, Sheboygan; grandsons, Travis (Dana) Corson, Odessa, FL, Todd Corson, Las Vegas, NV, Toby Corson, Sheboygan, Andrew Mais, Sheboygan, and Adam Mais, Madison; and his great granddaughter, Riley Jo Corson, Odessa FL; his brother, Eugene (Iris) Rudie, Sheboygan, two sisters, Donna (Garry) Janke Sheboygan, and Lois Anderson, Scottsdale, AZ; his sister-in-law, Charlotte Rudie, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Norman, Jr. Funeral services for Ralph will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 13th & Lincoln Avenue. The Rev. Gregory Whelton will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum with full military honors. A memorial fund has been established in his name. The family would like to thank Dr. Coulis and the nurses and staff of Pine Haven Christian Home and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
