Phyllis M. Tauschek, 88, a resident at the Sheboygan Senior Community passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at St. Nicholas Hospital.
Phyllis was born on December 7, 1927 in Prentice, Wisconsin a daughter to the late Almon and Francis (Rosenbeck) Davenport. She grew up in Prentice and at the age of 16 moved with her family to Sheboygan. She graduated from Sheboygan Central High School. On October 16, 1948 she was united in marriage to Anton J. Tauschek and he preceded her in death in 1998.
Prior to her marriage she worked in the office of the Sheboygan Redwings. Phyllis was a homemaker and seamstress and prior to retirement was employed at Peoples in Sheboygan. Family and her children were a very important part of her life. She was a member of SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Linda (Eugene) Brandau of Sparta, Joel (Peggy) Tauschek of Sheboygan Falls, Neal (Barb) Tauschek of Sheboygan and Lisa Tauschek of Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Josh (Holly Roska) Tauschek of Texas, Kate (Bryan) Anich of Milwaukee, Robyn (Christopher) Bernett of Onalaska and Ross Brandau of LaCrosse; a step granddaughter, Amy (David) Engeldinger of Sheboygan; three great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Rohde.
A funeral service for Phyllis will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday, July 18, 2016 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, with Deacon Richard Gulig officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum of Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Memorials in Phyllis’ name may be directed to St. Nicholas Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
