Belgium

Myrtle (Pierce) Sauter, 93, died peacefully on May 1, 2026. Myrt was a resident of Belgium Gardens Assisted Living.

Born April 12, 1933, in Chicago, she was the second of four children born to Margaret (Krebs) and Clifton Pierce. At the end of World War II, their family lived in Wiesbaden, Germany. Her Father (US Army) passed there, after which her family relocated to Kewauskum where she graduated High School.

She married Albert Sauter in 1951, and together they had five children. They lived for several years in Saukville before moving to Random Lake in 1960, where they resided for nearly 40 years. Myrt worked for over 25 years as Office Manager at Badger Tag & Label in Random Lake. After her retirement, they moved to Cascade, and later to Sheboygan Falls.

Myrt was an amazing baker and loved to knit, crochet, play piano, and ride her moped. She was active at St. John’s UCC in Random Lake, and a long-time choir member. She amassed a large collection of turtles, many of which were proudly displayed at the Random Lake library. She also loved her slot machines, enjoying frequent trips to Oneida and Las Vegas.

She is survived by her five children: Kathy Pease of Plymouth; Mike Sauter of Milton, FL; Jeff (Kathie) Sauter of Oilville, VA; Tim (Stacy) Sauter of Phelps, WI; John (Kevin White) Sauter of Sheboygan, and her brother Richard (Cathy) Pierce of Durand, WI. She was a proud Grandmother of nine and Great-Grandmother to twelve. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert, brothers Kenneth and Preston Pierce and son-in-law Al Pease.

Myrt’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to her team of care providers at Belgium Gardens, Aurora Hospital - Grafton, Community Care and Preceptor Hospice.

Per Myrt’s request, there will not be services.
