Muriel M. Kraus, 83, of Sheboygan, passed away Saturday evening, December 3, 2016, surrounded by her family, at Countryside Manor where she had been residing.
Born July 11, 1933 in Shiocton, WI, Muriel was a daughter of the late Frederick and Evelyn Spaulding Jahnke. She graduated from Custer High School in Milwaukee in 1951. On September 12, 1953, she was united in marriage to Frederick W. Kraus in Milwaukee. They were married for 61 years before Fred preceded her in death on April 22, 2014.
Muriel was a loving mother and homemaker who later in life worked at Target. She was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. She enjoyed baking, sewing and doing ceramics.
She is survived by her three children, David (Virginia) Kraus, Sussex, Nancy (Gary) Ormsbee, Oshkosh, and Karen (Rick) Lutz, Media, PA; three grandsons, David (Anna), Matthew and Alex Kraus, all of Sussex; her great granddaughter, Ellie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends both in Sheboygan and Milwaukee.
Funeral services for Muriel will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Chapel of the Chimes of Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI. The Rev. Alan Kretschmar will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at The Chapel of The Chimes. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of Eternal Life of Wisconsin Memorial Park.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
