Michael C. Rasch

Michael C. Rasch, 73, of Sheboygan, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023 at his home.
Born November 30, 1950 in Sheboygan, Mike was the son of Elwood and LaVerne Buenzow Rasch. He attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1969. He continued his education at Lakeshore Techinal College. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army  from 1971 to 1993 where he was stationed in the Gulf during Operation Desert Storm. He attained the rank of Command Sergeant Major.
Mike worked as a pipe fitter for the Vollrath Co. for 39 years until his retirement in 2010. He was an avid sailor and an active member of the Sheboygan Yacht Club where he served as Commodore from 2002 to 2004. He loved sailing, especially on Wednesday nights during the race season on his Ericson 29, Thither. He also loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Farmer's & Sportsman's Club of Sheboygan where he was active on the board of directors and served as the Board Chair in 2018.
He is survived by his special family friends, Elizabeth and Jarred Querio and their daughter and Mike's God daughter, Madison Querio. He is further survived by other family and his many friends from the Sheboygan Yacht Club and the Vollrath Company.
A celebration gathering will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan. Military Honors will take place at 1:15 p.m. on Friday in the Garden of Valor of Greenlawn Memorial Park. A reception will follow at the Sheboygan Yacht Club.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Mike's arrangements.
