Michael "Mickey" Allen Petermann

February 14, 1953 — August 14, 2025

Michael “Mickey” Allen Petermann, 72, of Sheboygan, passed away on August 14th surrounded by his family. Mickey was born on February 14th, 1953, in Sheboygan to the late Allen Michael Petermann and Marguerite “Betty” (Schinderle) Van Ermen. Mickey worked at Schultz Sav-O (Fresh Brands) for 36 years. For the next 10 years he took on the full-time job of running “grandpa daycare” for 7 of his grandchildren, who kept him on his toes.
In his younger years he enjoyed weightlifting, his cars, listening to tunes, and spending time at the lake. He loved spending time with his family which included camping, looking for deer and walking the trails at Terry Andre State Park. He also spent many hours fishing and hunting. He had a great love for his Labrador Retrievers, Foster, Reggie and Chloe. One of his favorite pastimes was throwing the football around with his kids and grandkids.
Mickey had a passion for bowling, which included being in multiple leagues at LakeShore Lanes and Odyssey. He was blessed with a great group of bowling friends that he considered his second family. He was so proud of his high score of 299. We are hoping he finally gets that 300 in heaven!
Everyone would agree he had some of the best “dad” jokes around. You knew it was going to be a good one when he ended it with Johnny Carson’s “Da Dat Da Da Daa”. Along with his jokes, he had a goofy nickname for every one of his grandchildren. You could always count on getting a good laugh out of Mickey (dad). He was effortlessly humorous, and we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
He is survived by his children, Lisa (David) Jansen, Jamie (Tom) Balde, Nicole (Tony) Wiltzius, Allen Petermann (significant other April Segovia); 10 grandchildren, Samantha (Branden) Lloyd, Kirsten Jansen (fiancé Tyler Luebke), Anthony Petermann, Brooklynn Wiltzius, Olivia Balde, Sierra Harper, Bode Balde, Aiden Petermann, Addison Wiltzius & Sophia Balde; 3 great grandchildren Ryland Lloyd, Everleigh Lloyd, Jace Lloyd; sisters and brothers Arlyn (Aubrey) Heape, Randy (Marge) Petermann, Arthur “Skipper” (Dawn) Petermann, Roianne Van Ermen, Lorrie Lea (Ray) Woolwine, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rest easy dad, you deserve it!!
His family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Sheboygan Health Services for the amazing care and compassion he received in the last months of his life. They treated him like a person not just a resident and made him feel at home as best they could.
Per Mickey’s request a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
