Michael B. Markelz

Michael B. Markelz, 76, of Sheboygan, passed away Saturday evening, February 24, 2024, at Azure Memory Care in Sheboygan where he had been residing.
Born November 5, 1947, in Sheboygan, Michael was a son of the late Ralph and Bernadine Bedosky Markelz. He attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1966. He then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Airforce from 1967 to 1970.
Mike worked in maintenance for Piggly Wiggly for many years retiring in 2014. He previously worked for R-Way Furniture and Tecumseh DieCast. He was a member of the Sheboygan Moose Lodge and the VFW Post 9156. He enjoyed gardening, playing baseball and darts.
He is survived by his twin sister, Lucy (John) Nelson, Pelican Lake, and his brother, Ralph Markelz, Mountain Center, CA; his nephews, John (Jackie) Nelson, Franklin, and Ritchard (Christine) Markelz, Temecula, CA; great nieces and nephew; his helpful neighbors, Larry and Shelley Lewis; and many wonderful friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Markelz, his grandparents, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Azure Memory Care for all of their loving care and support.
