Michael J. Rieck, 54, of Manitowoc, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. Born May 31, 1961 in Sheboygan, Mike was a son of Phyllis J. Bennin Rieck and the late Maynard N. Rieck. He attended Cleveland Elementary, Washington, Urban and North High School. Mike enjoyed painting, playing Wii, planting flowers and was an avid Packer, Brewer and WWE wrestling fan. His greatest joy was watching the birds that he fed. He is survived by his very special friend, Karen Lazarus, Manitowoc; his mother, Phyllis (Erik) Klessig, Cleveland; his sister and brothers, Lori (John) Steuerwald, Cascade, Mark (Claudia) Klessig, West Bend, and Paul (Tina) Klessig, Howards Grove; niece and nephews, Lyndsey (Jacob) Kailing, Sheboygan, Adrian & Mara Klessig, West Bend, and Nikalis & Olivia "Oli" Klessig, Howards Grove; a great niece and great nephew, Madison and Jack; his Aunt, Mona (Rich) Sponaugle, Sheboygan; cousins, Amy (Michael) Wojcak and their daughter, Maggie, St. Paul, MN, Joe Sponaugle, Sheboygan Falls, and Brittney (Rick) Baumann and their children Rick III and Anakin, Sheboygan. He is further survived by Aunts, Jeanelle, Charlene and Jan; and Uncles Tom and Rick; other cousins, relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan, his father, Maynard, Grandma & Grandpa Rieck, Grandma & Grandpa Bennin, Uncle Neil and Aunt Carolyn. Private family services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Holy Family Memorial Hospital for all of their loving care and support. A memorial fund has been established in his name for Painting Pathways Clubhouse, 1226 Washington Street, Manitowoc, WI 54220. The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Mike's arrangements.
