Born May 16, 1963 in Sheboygan, Michael was a son of Alex and Arleene Sackett Konz. He attended Jefferson Elementary, Horace Mann Middle School and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1981. On May 31, 1997, he was united in marriage to Christine A. Kramer at their home.
Michael owned and operated the Sleep Shoppe from 2002 until 2008. He also worked at Sheboygan Chevrolet and Dick Nelson Furniture. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, golfing and shooting darts. His greatest joy was fishing, especially in Fox Lake and Canada.
He is survived by his wife, Christine; his children, Michael Konz and Heidi (Chad) Miller, both of Sheboygan; his parents, Alex and Arleene Konz, Sheboygan; his two sisters, Michelle Folz and Melissa (Fred) Wagner, both of Sheboygan; his nieces and nephews, Emily Folz, Minneapolis, MN, Jacob Folz, Sheboygan, Samantha Wagner, DePere, and Nick Wagner, Sheboygan; his brother-in-law, Mark Kramer, Sheboygan; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and fishing buddy, John and Mabel McBride; and his in-laws, Anne and Russell Kramer.
Memorial services for Michael will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. The Rev. Lorri Steward will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the chapel on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
