Michael J. Donohue

October 14, 1950 — June 16, 2013

Michael Joseph Donohue died on June 16, 2013 at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay after a short illness. Mike was born in Antigo, Wisconsin on October 14, 1950 to Gene and Mary Jane Flanagan Donohue who moved to Sheboygan when Mike was an infant. He graduated from Sheboygan North High School. After high school, Mike worked in the construction industry until he found his best job as a truck driver. He drove for Sheboygan Beverage and many years for Johnsonville Sausage, enjoying road trips and escaping the confinement of an office or a building. Mike loved to watch the Brewers and the Packers. He was a fan of the Indy 500, traveling to Speedway, Indiana for many years to watch the races in person. He also loved to argue politics with his sister. Mike is survived by his beloved daughter, Kelly, his greatest joy in life. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Lynne Donohue, her husband, Tim Van Akkeren, and his nephews, Michael and Flan Van Akkeren who greatly enjoyed his stories of the old rock and roll days. Friends and family will gather at the Olson Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Avenue, on June 20, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm to remember this generous and tremendously kind person. The family would like to thank the Intensive Care Unit at Bay Care, particularly Nurse Toni, for their skilled and compassionate care. A memorial fund will be established in Mike's name.
