Mercedes Sprengel

February 9, 1990 — August 11, 2024

It is with great sadness that we have to say that Mercedes lost her 20 year battle with drugs.
She was born Feb 9, 1990, to Christine Sprengel and Don (Karleen) Kellison.
From a young age, Mercedes showed artistic talent. She went through so much paper, crayons, pens, and markers. Not to mention how many magna-doodles were purchased throughout the years.
In her teens, she drew a beautiful tree on her brothers wall in a blue Sharpie. It took 4 coats of Kills to cover it up, and I think there still was a blue hue bleeding through.
Mercedes had a good heart. She enjoyed helping others and making them smile and feel good about themselves. I wish that would have been enough to fill her soul.
Because of the drug use and her T1D, the chances of Mercedes carrying a child to term was almost impossible, but through a miracle, little Isabella Christine came into our lives. Mercedes adored Bella and was an excellent mom to her.
Survivors include her daughter, Isabella; her parents; her siblings, London Sprengel, Skyliar (Allyson) Kellison, Lindsey (Jorden Ovshak) Kellison, and Megan (Joe) Freimuth; grandparents, Mary (Harold) Hensel and Virgil Kellison; aunts & uncles, Patti (Tim) Kopf, Richard Sprengel, Mike (Lisa) Kellison, and Randy (Deb) Kellison.
She is further survived by her boyfriend, Charlie Melton, and her bonus Mom, Cindy Anderson; nieces & nephews; Eason, Landon, Ethan, Penelope, Calleigh, Emmaly, Connor, and Brett; many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Carol (Barthel) Sprengel; aunts, Linda (Stan) Andre and Marti Trost; her uncle, Phil Sprengel; and her best friend, Randy Matthews.
Mercedes suffered many years with her demons. Her time in California, where she was sold to traffickers, who, when she escaped, followed her to Sheboygan. The toxic people she dated over the years that physically and mentally abused her, in addition to all of the drugs over the years caused her mind to not work quite right anymore. She is now at peace. She was loved very much and will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations for her funeral and Bella’s future expenses.
