Matthew Lee Koss, 36, of Sheboygan, passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice following a life limiting brain injury. Matthew was born March 13, 1978 in Sheboygan, a son of Jean L. Schelwat Koss and the late Richard L. Koss. He attended area grade schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School. Matt was a supervisor for Nemak Gateway where he worked for 17 years. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and trap shooting. He also loved going boating. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Delta Water Fowl and enjoyed Farmers Sportsman's Club. He is survived by his mother Jean, Sheboygan; his son Tristan, Sheboygan; his brother Jon Lang, Sheboygan; sisters Jonna (Terry) Stange, Howards Grove, and Julie (Fritz) Schierl, Plover, WI; a niece Ashley (AJ) Heling, Sheboygan; and a nephew Justin (girlfriend Samantha) Schmidt, Cleveland, WI; other relatives and many awesome friends. He is further survived by his dog Bootz. Funeral services for Matthew will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. Pastor Marianne Brandt, chaplain of Sharon S. Richardson Hospice will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Friday, September 5, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Greendale Cemetery. The family would like to add a special thanks to the nurses, therapists and staff of Clearview Brain Injury Center for the exceptional care of Matt and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice family and volunteers for all of their extraordinary loving care and support shown to Matt and his family. A memorial fund has been established in his name. The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Matthew's arrangements.
