Mathilda Frances Imig, 94, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died on Friday, August 9, 2013, at Azura Memory Care . Known by all as "Tillie", she was born on July 28, 1919, in Sheboygan to John and Frances (Kuznik) Chuck. She attended SS Cyril and Methodius School, graduated in 1936 at the age of 16 from Central High and attended Sheboygan Business College. Tillie was employed at the business office of Art Img's Inc. for several years. It was at Art Imig's where she met the love of her life, Robert Arthur Imig. Robert (Bob) was associated with Art Imig's Clothing and Dry-cleaning with his father Art, who established the business in 1909. Tillie was united in marriage to Bob on April 30, 1941, at Grace Episcopal Church. They enjoyed 60 wonderful years of love and friendship and raised three children, Arthur, Carol and Robert. Tillie had a deep religious faith and was a devout and active member of Grace Episcopal Church for 72 years. She served on Altar Guild for many years, was an oblate of the Sisters of the Holy Nativity (Fond du Lac), Sheboygan Women's Club, Sheboygan Service Club, Pine Hills Country Club and the Sheboygan Yacht Club. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a Scout Leader for boys and girls. Tillie was an active sports enthusiast, enjoying ice skating, bowling, cross country skiing, tennis, and was an avid golfer winning many awards. Tillie was very proud of her hole-in-one at Pine Hills on the 14th Hole in 1986. She continued to play golf until the age of 90. Tillie and Bob enjoyed traveling and took many memorable trips. Favorite times were spent with family at their Elkhart Lake summer home. Tillie continued to spend summers there even after Robert's death in 2002. Tillie enjoyed staying active by spending time with friends playing bridge, dominoes, attending Sheboygan Symphony concerts, cooking and listening to big band music. Her love of life was both uplifting and inspiring. Tillie brought beauty and grace to the world through her loving, caring, selfless and unassuming ways. Family was always a high priority for her. The lights of her life were her children and their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tillie is survived by her sons Arthur (Nancy) Imig and Robert (Debbie) Imig of Sheboygan and her daughter Carol (John) Schmid of Madison; six grandchildren including Mary (Steve) Gallimore of Sheboygan, Katie (Jay) Maki of Kohler, Sarah (Bill) Slessman of Paradise Valley, AZ, Rob (Shirley) Imig of New York, NY, Christy (Todd) Fregien of Waukesha and Heidi (Jason) Cole of Bedford, NH; fifteen great-grandchildren, Olivia, Jairus and Nolan Gallimore, Benjamin and Davis Maki, Will and Charlie Slessman, Lucy and Jake Imig, Riley, Abby and Gracie Fregien and Madeline, Myles and Miranda Cole; a niece Diane (Robert) Norris and family; and a nephew Richard (Nanette) Chuck and family. Tillie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, grandson Arthur John and her only sibling Emil Chuck and his wife Gertrude. A Requiem Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Grace Episcopal Church, 630 Ontario Ave. Sheboygan. The Rev. Dr. Karl Schaffenburg will officiate. There will be a visitation from 9:30 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Episcopal Church or Sharon S.
