Mary Benzschawel

Mary Benzschawel, 60, of Sheboygan, passed away Saturday morning, November 6, 2021 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice surrounded by her family following a short courageous battle with cancer.
Born December 5, 1960 in Sheboygan, Mary was a daughter of the late Harvey and Janet Ewald Lederer. She attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1979.
Mary was an aesthetician and nail technician at the Mustard Seed in Sheboygan for several years. She previously worked at the Kohler Waters Spa and at Homes For Independent Living. Her favorite job was being able to stay home and be a Mom to her children. She was a member of Cross Roads Church in Sheboygan. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and going out to eat with her friends and family. She was an avid walker and enjoyed working out at the YMCA and walking along the lake front. She recently found her love of live music, especially at outdoor venues. Her greatest joy was the time she spent taking care of her six grandsons. She will always be remembered for her infectious laughter.
She is survived by her children, Angie (Ryan) Shaw, and Michael (Nicci) Benzschawel, both of Sheboygan; her six grandsons, Mateo, McHale and Maddux Shaw, and Jonah, Oliver and Micah Benzschawel, all of Sheboygan; her sisters and brother, Debbie (Tim) Eirich, Jim (Kelly Cvetan) Lederer, and Amy Lederer, all of Sheboygan; her two aunts, Carol George, NE, and Vickie (Don) Norton, Kansas City; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Peggy Klumb.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Crossroads Community Church, 4321 Cty Rd A, Sheboygan. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you bring your favorite appetizers for the celebration meal following the service.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
The family would like to thank her nurse practitioner, Kelly Dawson and the nurses and staff of the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Mary's arrangements.
