Marlene "Jean" Sanders, 77, of Sheboygan, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at St. Nicholas Hospital. Born June 16, 1938 in Tomahawk, WI, Jean was a daughter of the late Angus and Carol Welty Holmes. She graduated from Tomahawk area schools and graduated from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN with a degree in nursing. Jean was a nurse for many years, working in Wisconsin, Florida, California and Minnesota before retiring in 2000. She loved to crochet, read, play cribbage (especially with the "kids" at the lake in Tomahawk) and watch the Green Bay Packers. She is survived by her three sons, David (Shaun) Sanders, Michael (Cindy) Sanders and Thomas Sanders, and her daughter, Barbara Sanders. She was loved and will be missed by her grandchildren, Joseph (Charmin) Sanders, Jennifer Sanders, Corey Sanders, Megan Wood, Justin Sanders, Erika Sanders and Jordan Sanders; and her two great grandchildren, Michael and Malachi. She is further survived by a sister, Joan Seaborg, and her brother, Richard (Veryl) Holmes. She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Carol (Marion) Siesennop, her brother-in-law, Albert Seaborg, and her sister-in-law, Sylvia Sanders. A celebration gathering will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. A memorial fund has been established in her name. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of St. Nicholas Hospital and Hospice for all of their loving care and support. The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Jean's arrangements.
