Mark Williams

Mark A. Williams, age 47 of Sheboygan, passed away suddenly, Sunday, April 1, 2018 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan.

Born December 7, 1970 in Sheboygan to Lyle and Wanda (Sipes) Williams. Mark attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1989. He graduated from Central Texas College with an Associate's Degree in Applied Science. He retired as a First Sergeant from the United States Army in 2010 after 21 years of honorable service where he received the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Purple Heart, Army Achievement Medal, Valorous Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), US Army Recruiter Badge with Three Sapphire Achievement Stars, Combat Action Badge and Driver and Mechanic Badge with Driver Wheeled Vehicle Clasp. He later worked for the Department of Defense as a Civil Service employee until relocating to Sheboygan in December. He presently worked for Johnsonville.

He enjoyed carpentry, restoring cars, cooking, drag racing and was an avid Packers fan. He took pride in his 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 and taking friends and family for a "joyride".

Mark is survived by his mother, Wanda Williams, Sheboygan; his children, Sara and Mark A. Williams II, both of Sheboygan; his sister, Donna Pragatz, Sheboygan; 2 brothers, Jeff (Julie) Williams, Rochester, MN and Doug (Kim) Williams, Sheboygan; 8 nieces and nephews and 4 great nephews. He is further survived by his former wife of 23 years, Julie Haas Williams and many relatives and friends around the world.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle and his brother in law, Jim Pragatz.

Funeral services for Mark will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan. The Rev. Gregory Whelton will officiate. Family and Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

A memorial fund has been established in Mark's name.
