As of Friday, December 28, 2012, Marie T. Gruenwald is now peacefully in the arms of her Savior. Born December 4, 1923 in Sheboygan, Marie was a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Schmidbauer Gruenwald. She attended Holy Name Catholic School and graduated from Sheboygan North High School. Marie was employed by the Vollrath Co. in the human resources department since she graduated from high school until her retirement. She was a lifelong faithful member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and the St. Ann's Society. She was also an officer of the Holy Name Credit Union. She was an avid reader who loved her flower gardens. She also enjoyed watching Packer games. Ms. Gruenwald is survived by her nephews, Michael (Terri) Gruenwald and Thomas Gruenwald of Sheboygan; niece, Kathryn (Tom Deschenes) Gruenwald of Thorton, CO; great nephew, Anthony Gruenwald, Sheboygan; great great niece, Kirsten; special friend Ruth Adamavich; cousins, Pat Pepitone, Anna Mae Nack, George Schmidbauer, Alan Schmidbauer and Richard Kirsch. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Margaret and her brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Sandy. A Mass of Christian Burial for Marie will be celebrated on Friday, January 4, 2013, at 12:00 noon at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, N. 8th St. and Huron Ave., with the Rev. James E. Connell as celebrant. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the mass. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name for Holy Name Church. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of St. Nicholas Hospital, Sunny Ridge and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support. The Lippert-Olson Funeral Home has been entrusted with Marie's arrangements.
