Marie D. Fetterer

Marie D. Fetterer, 96, of Sheboygan, passed away Tuesday evening, January 12, 2016 at the Sheboygan Senior Community where she had been residing.
Born January 27, 1919 in the Town of Lyndon, Marie was a daughter of the late Patrick and Louise Bell Lamb. She attended Plymouth area schools, graduated from Sheboygan High School and attended Sheboygan Business College. On November 22, 1941, she was united in marriage to Frederick H. Fetterer at St. Clement Catholic Church in Sheboygan. They were married for 30 years before Frederick preceded her in death on November 22, 1971.
Marie was a legal secretary at PLENCO for 27 years before she retired in 1985. She was a life long member of St. Dominic Parish where she gave her time and talent wherever she was needed. She volunteered for many years with the Red Cross, the Sheboygan BPW, was on the Salvation Army Advisory Board for 27 years, 17 as the recording secretary, and the St. Nicholas Hospital Auxiliary. In her younger years, Marie enjoyed ice skating, roller skating, skiing, bicycling, bowling and golfing. She belonged to the Friday night ladies golf league at Town & Country.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" Klub, Sheboygan; her daughter-in-law, Margaret Fetterer, Sheboygan; her seven grandchildren, Dean Reif, Sheboygan, Fran (Monica) Popp, Howards Grove, Sheryl Reif, Sheboygan, Robert (Michelle) Fetterer, Algonquin, IL, John (Lynn) Fetterer, Edgerton, WI, Douglas (Cindy) Fetterer, West Bend and Jenn (Scott) Hollmeyer, Downers Grove, IL; five great grandchildren, Vanessa Popp, Hope Mueller and Christopher (Jennifer) Mueller, all of Sheboygan, and Adeline and Eleanor Hollmeyer, Downers Grove, IL; three great great grandchildren; her sister and best friend, Patricia Lang, Sheboygan; and her brother, Orton Lamb, Baytown, TX; , her brother-in-law, Arno Yurk, Kalamazoo, MI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick, her daughter, Fae Karl, her son, Daniel, her grandson, Mark Reif; her brother, Giles Lamb, her sisters, Beatrice (Victor) Herber and Marjorie Yurk, her sister-in-law, Atemsa Lamb, and her brother-in-law, Joseph Lang.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Marie at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at St. Dominic Parish, 21st & Geele Ave. The Rev. Philip Reifenberg will celebrate the Mass. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
A donations may be made to the Marie Fetterer Memorial Fund, The Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice or the Sheboygan Senior Community.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Sheboygan Senior Community and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Marie's arrangements.
