Margaret "Marge" C. Benning, 89, of Howards Grove, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, November 4, 2015 at St. Nicholas Hospital with her family by her side. Born June 17, 1926 in Oshkosh, Marge was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Spanbauer Kinderman. She attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Oshkosh High School. On June 25, 1953, she was united in marriage to Clifford T. Benning in Waukegan, IL. They were married for 19 years before Clifford preceded her in death on June 11, 1973. Marge was a loving homemaker and worked for the Kohler Generator Co. for 12 years. She previously worked as a nursing aid at Winnebago County Hospital. She was a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Church. She was a volunteer at the Salvation Army and the Grandparent Reading Program for the Sheboygan Public Schools. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, playing bingo and putting puzzles together. One of her greatest joys was attending her grandchildren's sporting events. Some of her fondest memories included a trip to Europe to visit her son while he served in the military, and spending time with all of her dogs, whom she loved very much. She is survived by her son, Thomas (Denise) Benning, of Howards Grove; and her grandchildren, Clifford and Alison, both of Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, a sister-in-law, and other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and her husband, Clifford, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Marie, Janet, Dorothy, Marcella; and her brother, Ralph. Private family graveside services will take place at Reinzi Cemetery in Fond du Lac. The family would like to thank nurses and staff of St. Nicholas Hospital and St. Nicholas Home Health & Hospice for all of their loving care and support, especially Allison in the ICU and CNAs Dawn and Kevyn. Your compassion and love were very much appreciated. Also we would like to thank Dr. Gentine and Dr. Coulis for their care over the years.
