Madiha Winsauer died at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice on February 15, 2013. Madiha was born in Alexandria, Egypt March 19, 1924, a daughter of the late Dr. Ibrahim Sariakoussy and Gamila Wassel Sariakoussy. She was raised in Alexandria with her sisters Karima and Mohabet and late brother Rahim. She met her husband Dr. Henry J. Winsauer in Alexandria while he was serving in the United States Air Force Medical Corp as a flight surgeon with the 85th Flight Squadron during World War II. They were subsequently married in Kohler, WI on August 17, 1946. Madiha was active in the community serving as a volunteer with the Sheboygan Service Club and the Sheboygan Medical Auxiliary. She enjoyed travel, fashion, cooking, golf and her beloved dog Prince. After raising her four (4) children, she forged a career in Interior Design. She completed her Bachelor's Degree at University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee and a Master's Degree at San Diego State University before developing and serving clients in the San Diego area. She and Henry moved to La Jolla, Ca in 1979. In California, she was active in the ASID, Art Alive, and also served on the La Jolla City Planning Commission. Madiha is preceded in death by her husband Henry, and survived by her children: Patricia (William) Reiss, David (Vickie) Winsauer, Paul (Margaret) Winsauer and Peter ( Nancy Fiala) Winsauer. She has nine (9) grandchildren; Christine (Bill) Barrett, William (Jennifer) Reiss III, Caroline (Tyler) Beauregard, Paul (Lydia) Winsauer, Nicole (Fiancé Paul Rufener) Winsauer, Michael (Basia) Boyd, Daniel Boyd, Peter Winsauer, Kate Winsauer, and seven (7) great grandchildren; Henry, Charlie and Owen Barrett, Emily and Billy Reiss, Jack and Will Beauregard. A private memorial service will be held at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Kohler. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Our family, including Pearl, would like to give a special thanks to the staff at the SSRCH for their kindness and care.
