Lester C. Hartman, 85, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 14, 2014, surrounded by his loving family at Sunny Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born March 24, 1929 in Sheboygan, Lester was a son of the late Henry and Nora Stanisch Hartmann, Jr. He graduated from Sheboygan North High School. He then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1952. On October 25, 1952, he was united in marriage to Yvonne A. Nouguier in San Francisco, CA. Lester worked for the Kohler Company for 22 years, retiring in 1992, He previously worked at the American Chair Company. He enjoyed camping, bowling, playing softball and bingo and was also a Cub Scout Leader. He is survived by his wife. Yvonne; his five sons, Gary (Terry) Hartman, Sheboygan Falls, Perry Hartman, Sheboygan Falls, David (fiancé Brenda Berres), Sheboygan, Daniel Hartman, Sheboygan, and Thomas Hartman, Sheboygan; six grandchildren, Amber DeSmidt, Sheboygan Falls, Neil (Rosa) Hartman, Sheboygan, Deidra (fiancé John Sukowaty) Hartman, Cascade, Jordan Hartman, currently serving in the U.S. Army, Michelle (Raymond) Zalewski, Kewauskum, and Margo Clark, Sheboygan Falls; four great grandchildren, Isaiah DeSmidt, Isaac Hartman, Arianna Hartman and Elijah Hartman; his half brother, Mark (Debora) Hartmann, Sheboygan Falls; and his stepmother, Eleanora Hartmann, Sheboygan; a brother-in-law, Emil Nouguier, CA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Nora and Fred Guetschow, his father, Henry Hartmann, and a brother-in-law, Louis Nouguier. Funeral services for Lester will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May, 20, 2014 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. The Rev. Thomas Fleischmann will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A memorial fund has been established in his name. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Sunny Ridge for all of their loving care and support shown to the family over the years.
