Leslie D. Gahagan, 51, of Sheboygan, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at her home with her family beside her.
Born June 14, 1965 in Milwaukee, WI, Leslie was a daughter of Gail M. Ford Popelka and the late Brian W. Gahagan. She attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Elkhart Lake High School in 1983. She continued her education, studying fine arts at Lakeland College, communications and graphic arts at U.W. Plateville and as a dental assistant at LTC.
Leslie was a mom and homemaker who took care of her special needs daughter, Zoe for 20 years. She recently worked in hospitality at the American Club and at the Bull at Pinehurst Farms. She enjoyed gardening, playing guitar, the arts and harmonizing with her brother while doing the dishes.
She is survived by her children, Timothy Heinen, Fond du Lac, and Zoe Heinen, Sheboygan; her mother, Gail (Donald) Popelka, Green Bay; her brother and sisters, Jeff (Julie) Gahagan, Sheboygan, Rebecca (Joel) Beaudry, Brillion, and Nicole (Matthew) Stengel, Irmo, SC; nieces and nephews, Claire Gahagan, Aiyana Beaudry, Miakoda Beaudry, Joey Palmquist, Jackson Stengel and Greyson Stengel; her stepgrandfather, Alvin Popelka of Greenbush; aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends. She is further survived by her significant other, Keith Stefani.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father, Brian Gahagan.
According to her wishes, there will be no services or visitation.
The family would like to thank Matthews and Associates Oncology and Community Care for their compassion and support.
