Leila G. Luebeck, 92, of Sheboygan, passed away Sunday morning, February 8, 2015 at Sunny Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center where she had been residing. Born February 26, 1922 on the family farm in Suring, Oconto County, WI, Leila was the daughter of the late Leonard and Hilda Scheer Luebeck. She attended Oconto area schools and graduated from the U.W. Stevens Point. She then moved to Sheboygan in 1948. Leila was a teacher at James Madison School in Sheboygan for 31 years, retiring in 1984. She previously taught at Franklin School and at the county school in Suring, WI. She was a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer and a member of WEAC. She enjoyed "gadding" around the world, having traveled to Europe 13 times, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii and all over the US and Canada as well as Mexico. She loved photography, reading, bridge club and sewing, especially making her own clothes. She is survived by her brother, Frederick (Lee Ann) Luebeck, Sturgeon Bay; and many friends including Duane and Anita Timm, Sheboygan, and her Godson, Charles (Antoinette) Buchholz, De Pere. A Memorial Service for Leila will take place on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 3207 Wilgus Avenue. The Rev. Bryan Osladil will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Suring, WI in the spring. A memorial fund has been established in her name for Lutheran High School. The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Leila's arrangements.
